Which vitamins to fight gum disease?

Vitamins coordinate your immune system’s response to infection and can delay or prevent many diseases. They have anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial effects 

Vitamin D : Many controlled trials have shown a modest but significant improvement in gum disease indicators with Vitamin D supplementation.

Vitamin C:  A deficiency in Vitamin C is strongly associated with bleeding gums and gum disease progression. 

Vitamin E: This vitamin has anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. A study in 2010 by Abou Souleiman revealed that 200 mg of Vitamin E every other day resulted in significant improvement in gum disease parameters when compared to dental cleanings alone without Vitamin E supplementation..
