Cut down on sugar to heal your gums.
The biggest problem with the “modern diet” and its junk foods is that it can cause a condition called sugar metabolic syndrome. This diet aggravates gum disease and other chronic disease because of the artificially added SUGAR!!!
Sucrose is the most common type of sugar that’s consumed and the average person consumes about 120 pounds per year and a lot of people consume a lot of more… Sugar is EVERYTHING like candy, soft drinks, cereals, canned soups. It’s quite literally EVERYWHERE and even if you tried to cut down on sugar it would be hard because the food manufacturers snuck it in to make things taste better .
And what about natural sugar that is present in natural whole foods? This is okay because natural foods are bulky and even you eat them, you won’t get so much sugar damage. An apple contains sugar, but that sugar is wrapped up in a lot of fiber, and the sugar exists in a long chain form (polysaccharide) that needs to be broken down, and it takes a while to bite, chew, and digest an apple. That’s why the sugar in the apple won’t harm you the same way as a spoonful of sugar in your tea or coffee or favourite cereal will. Not to mention the tons of sugar present in soft drinks or added to all kinds of processed foods.
